Pioneer releases limited edition CDJ-2000NXS2-W and DJM-900NXS2-W

Pioneer is releasing exclusive new versions of their flagship multiplayer and DJ mixer in a brilliant white finish. A strictly limited run of 1,200 CDJ-2000NXS2-W decks (200 for the USA) will be produced, along with 600 DJM-900NXS2-W mixers (100 for the USA). Each unit will be stamped with a distinctive plaque featuring a unique serial number.

The CDJ-2000NXS2-W and the DJM-900NXS2-W will be available from October at an MAP of $2299 and $2299 respectively.

Pioneer Pro Audio introduces the XY-3B and XY-2

Two powerful new speakers are joining Pioneer Pro Audio’s XY Series: the XY-3B three-way full range speaker and the XY-2 mid-high speaker.

Both are designed to deliver natural audio at the high sound pressure level (SPL) required for large venues and outdoor events.

The XY Series is well-known for providing excellent sound quality to nightclubs and music venues around the world. With the introduction of the XY-3B and XY-2, which offers the highest output in the Series, even more venues and events can benefit from an XY Series sound system tailored to their specific needs.

The next-level XY-3B was developed over the course of three years using 3D printers to create natural sound with high output. It’s been tested at numerous international festivals and outdoor events such as Xtrema Outdoor; Belgium and Netherlands; Lovebox, London; and Tomorrowland, Belgium. The XY-3B received enthusiastic feedback every time.

In the new XY-3B, an 8-inch cone driver delivers clean and precise mid-range frequencies using Pioneer Pro Audio’s X-Phase system. A 1-inch compression driver produces crystal-clear HF which, thanks to the molded Bi-horn, seamlessly blends with the mids. Two 12-inch cone drivers create tight, chest-pumping low end.

The XY-2 speaker is the mid-high section of the XY-3B. Designed specifically for large-scale venues and stadia, the XY-2 can be used for PA applications, as a DJ booth monitor or as a down fill in an XY-3B cluster setting.

The new XY Series speakers will be available from early 2018 at MAPs of $5,500 for the XY-3B and $3,000 for the XY-2.

KEY FEATURES OF THE XY-3B

Moulded Bi-horn

The 8-inch mid-range driver and the 1-inch compression driver are attached to the integrated waveguide with their depths perfectly aligned to minimize the difference of physical distance and reduce cancellation around the crossover frequency. This unique Bi-horn combines mid and high frequencies in a deep position inside the waveguide, improving the blend of the sounds compared to the performance of a conventional separated horn structure. The waveguide’s curved shape perfectly controls dispersion at 50 degrees horizontal and 35 degrees vertical, providing natural sound with high SPL in the targeted area while reducing the sound pressure outside that area.

X-Phase system with gold X-Phase plug

Driver cone cancellation is minimized thanks to Pioneer Pro Audio’s X-Phase system. The convex shape forces sound waves into small slits which are arranged in a fan shape, allowing all sound waves to exit in perfect phase aliment. The sound waves are forced over the top and bottom of the X-phase plug, producing higher SPL and greater sound projection over long distances.

Hybrid low-mid section

A hybrid dual 12-inch chamber in the low-mid section allows the drivers to produce tight notes. The LF drivers are also coated with a water-resistant finish on both sides, so you can use the XY-3 speakers outdoors. Plus, the added stiffness of this treatment allows the drivers to deliver a natural tightness rather than using thicker speaker cone material which would add weight and slow down the speed of the cones.

Rigging and tour ready

Rigging: Flying hardware options are available, along with ground stacking configurations.
Tour ready: Every detail of the XY-3 was designed to make it the perfect speaker to take on the road. You can load the speakers into trucks with the minimal amount of space lost, and they can be stacked two-high and four-wide when used with the XY-3 wheel board.

The HDJ-X10 headphones are equipped with our new 50-mm HD driver, making them the world’s first DJ headphones to reproduce high-resolution sound from 5 Hz to 40 kHz. The direct drive structure, with a newly developed diaphragm shape and voice coil, delivers high-quality sound without loss of quality due to mechanic loss. Creating rich bass notes and clean mid-to-high frequencies, the flagship headphones enable accurate point source monitoring, even at loud volumes, and allow you to make a deeper connection to the music.

You can easily renew the detachable cables and ear pads on all HDJ-X headphones using replacement parts (available separately). Each model comes with its own cable and the HDJ-X7 and HDJ-X5 models have a mutually compatible bayonet connector, so you can purchase an alternative cable type if you prefer (available separately). Replacement ear pads for the HDJ-X10 and HDJ-X7 are available and either set can be fitted to any of the HDJ-X models, including the HDJ-X5.

The Magvel crossfader, inherited from the DJM-900NXS2, gives a precise response and assured feel during even the most complicated scratch techniques. As well as its build quality and feel, other popular elements that come from Pioneer DJ’s flagship club mixer include four Sound Color FX with parameter control and selected Beat FX with FX Frequency, all allowing you to add creative flair to your performances. Warm, high-quality audio comes through thanks to the DJM-750MK2’s 64-bit digital signal processor which uses dithering technology, plus its 32-bit A/D converter and 32-bit D/A converter.

Digital Edge: Introducing Pioneer’s XDJ-1000MK2 Multiplayer

Pioneer DJ has just announced it has updated one of its popular USB-only multiplayers to create the XDJ-1000MK2. The new player inherits even more features from the club-standard CDJ-2000NXS2, including its 7-inch full-color high-resolution touch screen, enhanced track browsing functionality, and support for playing high-quality FLAC and ALAC files. Quickly finding the perfect track to play next is easy thanks to Track Filter, which filters tracks by BPM and key, and the new Matching feature which displays suitable tracks you’ve previously tagged in rekordbox when they’re mixed with the track that’s currently playing.

The XDJ-1000MK2 also retains key features from before. You can use the Qwerty touch-screen keyboard to search for keywords, then scroll through results on-screen or with the large rotary dial. You can analyze and prepare your tracks in rekordbox and the screen will display at-a-glance information such as Wave Zoom, Beat Counter, Phase Meter and Key Analysis – as well as provide instant access to your pre-prepared cues, loops and customized rekordbox settings. Pro DJ Link

Pro DJ Link lets you play tracks from one USB device across up to four multiplayers and unlocks a host of information and features.

Link Export: Connect your laptop using a USB or LAN cable to play tracks directly from your rekordbox library instead of using a USB device.
Beat Count and Phase Meter: Use rekordbox to mark key points on a track, and Beat Count will count down the beats to them from up to 64 bars away. Phase Meter shows the position of the beat in the bar, so you can compare the phase of each player with the master deck at a glance.
Beat Sync: Hit the Beat Sync button and you can align the beat positions and BPMs of tracks that have been beat-analyzed in rekordbox, playing on two multiplayers connected by Pro DJ Link.

Meet the Pioneer DDJ-RZX Audio and Video Performance Controller

Pioneer DJ is introducing the new DDJ-RZX flagship controller. Designed to make the most of the new rekordbox™ video Plus Pack for rekordbox dj, the DDJ-RZX builds on Pioneer DJ’s heritage of making innovative video DJ equipment like the DVJ-1000 and SVM-1000. The DDJ-RZX is a 4-channel professional controller for mobile DJs and anyone who wants to bring videos into their performances.

The DDJ-RZX features three touch screens for viewing track information and applied pad effects. Video previewing and monitoring is sharp on the 7-inch screens, and they give access to all the key features in both rekordbox dj and the new rekordbox video Plus Pack. You only need to use your laptop to browse your rekordbox library and select tracks. Two XLR combo input jacks give distortion-free Mic output and the 3-band Mic EQ and Mic FX let you tune each voice. Plus, the extensive FX unit includes Combo FX, Sampler Repeat and Release FX, as well as the studio-quality Sound Color FX from the DJM-900NXS2 mixer. The DDJ-RZX inherits traits from the CDJ-2000NXS2 multiplayer and DJM mixer series including large jog wheels, multi-colored Performance Pads and high-quality sound.

The DDJ-RZX will be available in the U.S. and Canada from July 2016, with a retail price of $2999.00. The DDJ-RZX will come bundled with license keys for rekordbox dj, rekordbox dvs, and rekordbox video Plus Packs (a $377.00 total value).

rekordbox video is a Plus Pack for rekordbox dj that adds video performance features to our rekordbox dj performance software. Its key features include:

Native control of videos – scratch and add FX to videos as if they were audio tracks
Transition FX – use the crossfader to mix two video sources with a choice of 20 built-in FX, or add up to five effects to your favorites and recall them
Touch FX – trace on the display’s x and y axes to add FX and adjust parameters
Slideshow – create slideshows of still images in advance or on the fly
Camera output – show the live feed from a digital camera connected to your computer

Layout mirrors a CDJ set-up

Mix audio and videos instinctively with features inherited from the CDJ and DJM series including large jog wheels and multi-colored tactile Performance Pads. The 4-channel controller has an independent sampler section for intuitive control of Beat Sync, Quantize and Trim on the sampler.

High-quality sound

Hear the true sound of your tracks thanks to AC inlets for reduced cable contact resistance and a high performance 96 kHz/32-bit D/A converter made by Asahi Kasai. Plus, low jitter clock IC and the 96 kHz/24-bit USB sound card ensure powerful, high-quality sound.

Three touch screens for complete control

Take your performances to the next level by using the three 7-inch touch screens to preview/monitor video and image files, and to trigger Beat FX and Release FX. Plus, Touch FX lets you add FX and adjust parameters by tracing on the x and y axes on the display. Use deck display mode to check track information such as titles, BPM and key. Additionally, use mixer display mode to see enlarged waveforms for each track, as well as loop and Hot Cue information. Create instant doubles by simply touching the display.

Professional Mic section

Hear voices loud and clear thanks to two XLR combo input jacks for Mics. Control the output with the 3-band Mic EQ and use the four Mic FX – Echo, Reverb, Pitch and V Tune – to add texture and to tune each voice.

Extensive FX unit

Add the following FX to your tracks from rekordbox dj or external players and sound sources:

Combo FX – control Sound Color FX and Beat FX at the same time using the touch screens
Sampler Repeat – change the length of a loop just by touching the display and apply Sound Color FX when using the rekordbox dj sampler
Sound Color FX with sub parameter control – use the studio-quality Sound Color FX from the DJM-900NXS2 mixer including Sweep, Filter, Crush, Dub Echo, Noise and Space, and fine-tune them using sub parameter control
Release FX – exit complex FX patterns by selecting Vinyl Brake, Echo or Back Spin and twisting the dial

Other features

Active Censor – intuitively control the new Active Censor feature in rekordbox dj. Set in and out points and apply Reverse Roll, Trans, Echo or Vinyl Brake FX to disguise explicit words in tracks. The FX will then be heard whenever the track is played from rekordbox dj.
